On my very first passage to the lake at the bottom of Peggy’s private property, I stopped still before a Chipmunk… it mirrored back to me its stillness. There we were a metre apart gazing at each other not moving a muscle. If that was any indication of what was best for me moving forward, I would adhere to its message.
Chipmunks’ message, at least for me, is to know when to be still and when to be spontaneous and move. I also appreciate their diligence when it comes to preparing for their future. Days later, I would recognise the need to plan for two gatherings where I was being hosted in Canada… you’ll find your invitation below.
I was curious about the Chipmunk’s ability to climb tree trunks and descend them face down, leaping great lengths inbetween their scurrying. Could this be that in the Triad to our Heart’s Truth, that I wrote about in Boundless, The Voice of Freedom, the essence or spirit of the Chipmunk shows us our ability to connect with our knowing from up and down the tree (vertical/stars) and across the ground (horizontal/Earth) to encompass all of nature’s terrain (elements) in our own being: mental, emotional, physical and spiritual?
When out walking in the forest I feel the Chipmunks play with me, as if saying, ‘Come this way!’ ‘We’re over here!’ And their song reminds me of a rubber ducky in the bath from when my children were young… squeak squeak squeak… their high-pitched sounds brings a lightness to my step and a smile to my face.
One morning I was seated in stillness by the water and one scurried behind my back, so close that I thought it may have confused me for a tree! It startled me.
I was determined to capture a little footage for you… it took a bit of patience but here’s a happy Chipmunk…
Where am I?
In Bancroft, Hastings County - a province of Ontario where there are 180 lakes! How curious that when home in Australia, I live in Hastings, Victoria - a coastal town on the Western Port Peninsula. Though, the most famous Hastings is likely a seaside town and borough in East Sussex on the south coast of England. No doubt the Hastings in Australia was named after its English counterpart.
As mentioned in my previous post, I had felt the minerals in the water, yet it wasn’t until I did a little research that I discovered Bancroft is known as the mineral capital of Canada with an astonishing 90% of all types of minerals found on Earth located in the area.
The mineral species is part of the Canadian Shield and is estimated to be 1.1 to 1.8 billion years old. Wherever I walk I can see the sparkles on the ground - mica amongst quartz, rock and stone. It’s very beautiful and I tried without success to capture a snapshot to share with you.
I love the pure vibrancy in the colours of the leaves, moss on the rocks and plants…
Come walk with me; we’ll follow the sun…
In patches on the side of the road, are clumpings of different plant varieties… I can imagine an organic Earth-conscious textile company emulating this design…
The things you see on a walk! Check out this caterpillar - I imagine it’s been caught in a spiders web (the filming is a little blurry as it was moving)…
And I love the way the sun shines a spotlight on nature’s species…
This plant was species looks similar to bamboo; initially, I wondered if it were a mangrove-type sucker…
Your Invitation…
Two dear Canadian friends have been very generous to host me throughout my time in Canada. While at their private place of residence, beautiful gatherings will be held where I talk about dreams and dreaming, and what light’s you up. Attendees will have the opportunity to journey with the sound of my voice and immerse deeply into themselves. Sing out if you’d like to be on the guest list… I would love to send you your personal invitation.
Gathering dates: September 21/22 and October 19/20
*Sun, Sep 22, 2024, 8:43 a.m is the fall equinox - bring balance to your being!*
Both locations have accommodation availability… one is technology-free… so if you need a rest from the craziness of life and feel the need to fill your vessel full of the good stuff, that is peace and love, send me a message and I’ll be delighted to share the heartwarming details with you.
As the Loon bird cries its ethereal calling signal from above, I sign off from this newsletter and head back outdoors to make the most of this sunshiny day… to wander and play.
Until soon! Thank you so much for reading, observing and responding… I love the meaningful conversations that pour forth from each post.
Love’s Harmony,
Leanda ✍🏼
