There is so much to appreciate in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Continuing from Part I we climb higher and walk along a narrow path towards Upper Falls. On the way, I stop to appreciate the bark of trees… do you see an elongated head with a face (left) carrying something on its back?
The view of Middle Falls from above offers quite the perspective… in height and vista.
Onwards we walk, through multiple layers of basalt lava rock and volcanic mudflows…
Until we arrive at Upper Falls… a place of sustenance.
There were so many vantage points from which to appreciate the reflection of our river of life… the twists and turns, valleys and troughs… eventually falling over the cliff to be reborn anew and continue onwards.
I found a beaut spot to sit at Upper Falls… altitude 3,502 ft… I knew what I said in the video was wrong! LOL! It was heartwarming to receive nature’s sustenance and feel the icy cold water on the back of my neck. Here’s my summary…
I love how our perspective changes on our return… there’s always something new to see and appreciate. What do you make this rock face to be? I love its sense of guardianship and playfulness.
Thank you for journeying with me… in my next post you’re invited to hike with me on Mt. Shasta… I can’t wait to share it with you.

Yep, I can see the face - she is either carrying something or there is another entity behind her .
What a journey - you have the courage of the huwoman 🦹♀️ 🦹♀️🦹♀️ without the mask 😊
Your journey reminds of my of my recent trip to Wilson’s prom. There is nothing like being immersed in nature when it is still reasonably pristine and the ancestors are still present.
