After a quiet day reflecting on my friend's departure… see: Unexpected Events, my body said it was time to head out for a hike, get some fresh air and climb the closest mountain. That mountain’s name is Towrong which to me was altogether, Toright!
Immersed in the dappled weak spring sunshine felt enlivening as I walked by homes nestled amongst thick forest. So when at the bottom of this road I met with a creek in full flow, this elevated my spirits no end…
I would venture down to the creek on my return and later discover its name, which I still find tricky to say… Willimigongon Creek. Have a go… let me know if you can pronounce it! From there, after a gradual steep ascent on the road, we reach the point at which we begin our climb. I say we because you dear reader are about to embark on an amazing climb.
It doesn’t look steep in the above video but there is no letting up… all the way to the top.

Are you puffed yet? I was! And we’re still climbing… though once past the summit (see post header video) it becomes a little easier under foot… not so rocky.
It was humbling to sit with this echidna on my way back down the mountain… It was this gorgeous creature’s eyes that captivated all of my attention, sweet and innocent, loving and gentle… an Australian Earth wisdom keeper she tells me to go deeper so I know more intimately my place within the land as I hear its pulse.
Then almost at the bottom two butterflies flitted about me… ever-grateful for nature’s message of a potential incoming gift for change and transformation.
Back on Anzac Road I did what my youngest son, Tom, would’ve done and stepped off the side of the road, making my way down a steep grassy embankment to the creek below… only there, did I realise I might be on someone else’s property!
The water was so fresh and clear… Enjoy nature’s beauty…
Did you enjoy the Macedon Ranges Mount Towrong climb? Thank you for joining me. I don’t anticipate posting here for a time while I address my material belongings (removing them from my son’s garage). Until soon… may we all listen ever-deeper and take heed of our inner compass that knows which way to go and what to do.
Love’s Harmonies,
